Remaining Free Agents that Would be a Good Fit for the Rockies
Coming into the offseason, the Colorado Rockies biggest need was in the bullpen. The Rockies fulfilled that need by signing Bryan Shaw and Wade Davis and resigning Jake McGee. The Rockies also added Chris Iannetta to their already stacked lineup. There are many free agents left who can lead the Rockies to their first world championship.
- Lance Lynn
Lance Lynn is a guy that I’ve been saying to sign from day one of free agency. I’ve been saying for a long time that the Rockies need to sign a veteran starting pitcher to add to their very young starting pitching rotation. He is a cheap option for the Rockies and will have a lot of experience.
2. Todd Frazier
Yes, Todd Frazier is a third baseman, but, what if we move him to first base. He can add a lot of power to the Rockies’ lineup. If he comes to Colorado, you can expect many more long balls at Coors this season.
3. Carlos Gonzalez
Carlos Gonzalez is starting to show his age by getting injured a lot. Also, this past season, he couldn’t stay consistent, but towards the end of the season, he started to step it up and was the clutch player we were looking for. If we move Cargo to first base, he’ll stay healthier.
The Rockies has a lot of high hopes this upcoming season, so if we sign one of the three, we should at least be a wild card contender.
