Preview: Avalanche vs Blackhawks

Tonight, the Avalanche head to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks.

The Avalanche defeated the Red Wings 5-1 last Sunday. Sure the Avs scored 5 goals, but Semyon Varlamov made the big saves that were a huge momentum changer for the Avalanche. In the last 10 games, the Avalanche are 6-1-3.

The Blackhawks are heading into tonight’s game with a three-game losing streak. They lost in overtime against the St. Louis Blues 5-4. The Blackhawks are currently in last place in the Central division.

The player to watch is Nathan Mackinnon. Not because I like Nathan MacKinnon but he is proving why he deserves the Hart Trophy. Nathan MacKinnon was awarded the second star of the week with 6 goals in 4 games.

Last time both teams played each other, the Blackhawks won in overtime against the Avalanche 2-1.
