Preview: Kings vs Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche host the Los Angeles Kings at the Pepsi Center on Thursday night. Both teams are within a point from each other in the Wild Card.

The Avalanche defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 5-1 last Tuesday and are hoping to do the same the Kings. Semyon Varlamov is looking to have another outstanding night like he did against the Blackhawks (44 saves on 45 shots on goal).

The Kings lost to the Jets in overtime but they did gain a point from last game. They are hoping to defeat the Avs to replace the Anaheim Ducks as the final team in the Pacific division.

The player to watch is Semyon Varlamov. Varlamov is 4-1 in the last five games for the Avalanche and only allowing seven goals in those five games.
